A Test of Skill

Pictured - Arthur Battle
Hamden: On September 16, 2009, Arthur Battle from Hamden tested for his Third Degree Brown Belt. Arthur trains at the Academy of Kempo Martial Arts in Hamden.
The test administrator, Grandmaster Brian Hanson, Ninth Degree Black Belt and the instructor at the Academy, Shihan Frank Ciarleglio, Fifth Degree Black Belt viewed Arthur’s Martial Arts movements. “What we look for in our students, is the quality and understanding of the movements. Third Degree Brown Belt is the last level before Black Belt. The proficiency of the movement at this level is very high. Each level is to help our students to set and achieve goals, which is all in preparation for their Black Belt. The different levels and advancements is an indication of the student knowledge and proficiency. There is great team of Martial Artists" here at the Academy that helps each other build and prepare and at a test of this magnitude it definitely shows” Ciarleglio said.
