"Support the Troops Drive" 

          Hamden: Here at home we sometimes lose track and become detached from the things happening elsewhere in the world. When our Troops were deployed into Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and the Persian Gulf we all felt the need to help in whatever way we could. Now, here it is years later and we still have Troops deployed. These Troops still need our support today as much as they needed it years ago. This is not about supporting the efforts that are going on there; this is about supporting the men and women of our country.

          The Academy of Kempo is holding their third “Support the Troops Drive”. We will be collecting things such as food and snacks, toiletries (no hotel samples please), entertainment and sports supplies and many other items that are needed overseas.           We are also encouraging the children to participate in the event by making cards, letters, or drawing pictures or posters for the Troops. Please go to www.academyofkempo.com for the guidelines of writing letters and cards to the Troops.
