| Hamden: The Academy of Kempo Martial Arts "Help a Child Initiative" collects arts and crafts materials for infants to adults with life-threatening diseases. Items needed are tempera paints, sand art kits, bead kits, window painting kits, wood projects and jewelry kits, as well as items that can be decorated, such as white T-shirts, white pillowcases, iPod cases and cloth bags. All are given to the Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer and the Child Life Specialist-Pediatric Specialty Clinic at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. Go to www.academyofkempo.com.
