| Hamden -- The Academy of Kempo Martial Arts is holding its "Help a Child Initiative," which collects arts and crafts materials for infants to adults ages 21 with life-threatening diseases for The Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer and the Child Life Specialist- Pediatric Specialty Clinic at the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. The academy has a list of items they are collecting at www.academyofkempo.com. Items needed are paints, sand art kits, bead kits, window painting kits, wood projects and jewelry kits, as well as items that can be decorated, such as white T-shirts, white pillowcases, Ipod cases and cloth bags.
