Throughout the months of September and October, the Academy of Kempo Martial
Arts held their sixth annual push-up challenge. This challenge was
designed by Shihan Frank Ciarleglio to help motivate the students to become
better with their push-ups. The goal is to compete with yourself to become
better and better - that is one of the most important aspects of the Martial
Arts, self-improvement.
For
those who find that competing with others is their motivator, Ciarleglio has
designed the challenge so there is a competition within the individual classes,
(separated by age and levels) as well as a competition throughout the Academy.
Ciarleglio monitored everyone’s improvements and coached the students on how to
improve. To improve in any task it takes motivation, self-discipline and hard
work at the correct things. So many people set goals to improve their way of
life and work very hard but are not working at the correct things and get
nowhere. It is important to have a plan of action and surround yourself with
other goal-oriented people as well as work with someone who can guide you if you
need help to achieve your goal.
Our programs at the Academy of Kempo are not just about the punch and the kick it’s about becoming the best you can be in everything you do. Congratulate to all the participants whose push-ups improved throughout the month.
