Academy of Kempo - Hamden

Annual Food Drive -2007

On Wednesday November 9, 2007 the Academy of Kempo Martial Arts of Hamden dropped off their first load of food to the local food pantry and soup kitchen. The students, families and friends of the Academy have generously donated over 25 bags of non-perishable food to date and continue to donate on a weekly basis. The Academy thanks all the people who have helped and who continue to support this food drive.

There are many people who have very limited resources available to them and this year seems to be worse than before. With skyrocketing fuel prices, which basically drives up the cost of everything, it becomes financially difficult to survive during the colder weather. There will be more people this year relying on outside help to survive these somewhat difficult times.

The food pantries as well as soup kitchens need as much support as they can get to help the people in need. The Academy of Kempo hopes that the general public will also help in their annual food drive.

The Academy is offering its students a free semi-private lesson for any five non-perishable items they donate and offering two weeks of free lessons to non-students (limited to one give away per person and can not be combined). The Academy is hoping that this will encourage more people to give, and of course if you wish to give without accepting the offer that is also encouraged.

The Academy of Kempo Martial Arts is accepting donations now through the end of the holiday season, at any one of their donation center located throughout Connecticut.
